In ancient Egyptian mythology, Anubis is the god of the afterlife, mummification, and embalming. He is usually depicted as a jackal-headed man wearing a kilt and a headdress with the two feathers of truth. Anubis is also thought to be the guardian of the underworld and the judge of the dead. As such, Anubis tattoos are often seen as a symbol of protection and guidance. They can also represent the passing of a loved one, or a reminder of the importance of honoring the dead.
