Despite the fact that the Marine Corps is traditionally seen as a male-dominated branch of the military, female Marines have been around since 1943, when the Women’s Reserve was established. Since then, more and more women have been joining the ranks of the Marine Corps, and in recent years, their numbers have been steadily increasing. As such, female Marines have come to signify strength and courage, and many of them have chosen to express their pride and dedication through the art of tattoos.
